Well it happened. I counted down for 19 days with my "19 'Til 19" series and then my birthday finally came. Some days it felt like forever until March 21st, and now it feels like it went so fast. The day had it's ups and downs but I guess I'd say that the thing that made it the best was all the people that wished me a happy birthday. People commented on my pictures, tweeted me, posted on my Facebook timeline, messaged me, and called. My siblings decorated the house and my mom told me happy birthday the minute I woke up. I went to work and then we went out to eat later. Instead of cake, I decided to get donuts, and then I opened my gifts. Not a ton, but they were seriously so great. :) I got a piano book, things for manicures, a devotional/Bible answers book, and some money. Afterwards, my uncle called me and we talked for a minute. He was sweet and funny, as usual. I told him I worked and he said, "get used to it kid, you'll be working on your birthday for years." Haha. As far as all the other posts, they came from so many amazing people--family members, long distance friends, people I met at tech school, close friends, cyber friends...it was great. :) Yeah, 19 feels so weird in some ways. Before I went to bed, I stopped still near the door and just realized that I wasn't 18 for a minute. I didn't really like that. I wanted to go back. It felt so strange that I can't even really explain it. But I can't go back now. I'm going to make the most of this year and know that God can make it the best phase of my life yet! Haha. I've probably rambled long enough...so here's a picture I posted on Instagram/Facebook on my birthday.
18 was amazing, but 19 will be even better! 💖✌🏼️🎉🎈
My church has tried to witness to our neighborhood in several ways over the years, but this past Christmas we tried something we'd never done before. The youth decided to put on a series of short skits that drove home a Gospel message. It took lots of preparation and we worked on it for weeks. We invited the whole neighborhood and a bunch of our friends. While not a ton of people showed up, it still was a good experience and not entirely worthless and the Word of God doesn't return void. We put on a total of 4 short skits, but the last one has to be my favorite. It's entirely made out of symbolism--and we were happy with it turned out. :) I put a video of it down below for you to check out.
Gospel Skit
Had so much fun last night performing at my church for our Christmas outreach. We did a compilation of skits. This was our grand finale and pretty much everyone's favorite one, so I thought I'd share it. :) Enjoy! (If there is anything in this skit that doesn't make sense, feel free to leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.)

So every Christmas, one family we know puts on a huge party. There's lots of food, singing, a group project and time to just talk/hang out. There's usually also a pretty unique, crazy, and exciting activity near the end of the party. This year, most of us got inside huge plastic bubbles and tried to knock each other over. Sounds crazy, right? I guess you'll understand the (fairly) harmless fun we had in these if you watch this little video I put together of all of us having a blast. :)
Every year, some of our friends put together a night that we go to a bunch of friends' houses and sing. We did that this year, caravanning from city to city, singing on their front porches, and inviting them to join us (at least most of them). That night, we even stopped at our Awana commander's house and sang for him and his family. Afterwards, we all went to a Wendy's to grab a bite to eat and hang out. Let me tell you, there's nothing quite like raiding a quiet (there were like 5 other people in the place) fast food joint at like 8pm with about 20+ people. Haha. :) Here's a picture I took of the group (or at least most of them lol):
It had kind of been a dream of mine to be a singer. Now, I'm not that great, but I can sing on tune. I really enjoy it as well. So, I got the opportunity to sing onstage in front of an audience. For our December "Teen Game Night" we were having a full-blown karaoke night. I decided to face my fear (stage fright) and go for it. I sang a solo, as well as the Christmas song, "Grown-Up Christmas List" with my sister and one of my best friends. I enjoyed it and would do it again. Quite a few of my friends did it, and they did a wonderful job as well. Seriously though, everyone that performed that night did great. If you want to watch the entire event, click here. For this blog post, I think I'm only going to post one of the videos, so here is my solo. I did "Hosanna" by Hillsong. :)
In my last post, I talked about my best friend/sister from Colorado, Alexis. Well, when we first met, we didn't really have a lot in common. We liked completely opposite things, but our common bond in Christ kind of brought us together and made us good friends. However, the thing we first really connected over and because closer friends through was Owl City. We started to really like him in the winter/spring of 2015. That's why when I got an email in July that he was coming to Salt Lake around the time I had planned for her to visit, I flipped out. It seriously was a dream come true! Everything was supposed to be a surprise, but she ended up finding out about all of it. Part of me was disappointed, but it ended up being good because we could both talk about and look forward to it together. My mom, sister, Alexis, and I all went to the concert. He was amazing! I had a really good time, got most of the show on film (until they told me to put the camera away), and then bought a poster before heading home. It was such an emotional experience. I remember listening to "Lonely Lullaby" on the way home and almost crying. The two of us got home and were still flipping out. :P I posted on Facebook the next morning that there was nothing anyone could say to me that would change the fact that I love Owl City. Below are a few pictures we took before/during/after the show and a video of the song he opened with. You can hear Alexis and I completely go wild and scream when he first comes out onstage around the beginning of the movie. :)
Waiting outside before the concert. It felt like FOREVER.
It was time for the concert and we were almost about to go inside the venue!
Inside the building!
Adam Young himself. :)
All of us right after the show. We were happy with how it turned out!
Back home...and we're still fangirling. :P
I love this picture. Alexis was about to get her stuff to take a shower and she was fangirling so hard she pretty much couldn't. I found it so funny and great and so I had to make her stay there so I could get a photo of it. :)
BIRD WITH A BROKEN WING LIVE (yes, this is my video):
In August 2014, my parents, siblings, and I went to a family camp in Colorado. I met quite a few people there, including a girl named Alexis. Several months later, we started to message each other and become even closer friends. A few months after that, her brother (just younger than her and she's my age) messaged me and we became pretty good friends as well. We weren't able to make it back to that camp the next year (2015), but we invited them to come stay the week at our house. So they did... We did a lot of fun stuff. It was nice to just hang out with and see them. Here's a little video I put together with a bunch of my favorite pictures of the wonderful memories of that week. :)
